Dreaming of countdowns

NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow, my literary exam is on friday. Guess which I'm more excited about?

I even dreamt about NaNoWriMo, and for some reason - in my dream - I was in lapland doing it.

Counting down

Only two days left till NaNoWriMo now. God I am getting excited.

Also, fun fact: only three days left till my Literary Survey exam. Whoop whoop.

And it's only 50 days left until it's time to go back home. Time sure flies - it doesn't feel like I've been here for two months already.

Countdown

Five days left now. I've added a word-count thingamajig there on the side here, just under the 'about' section, so that you all can see my progress.

You know, for fun.

NaNoWriMo

Only seven days left till NaNoWriMo now. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ridiculously, pants-pissing excited. I have sooo many ideas of what to write, so now I just have to decide whether I should just pants it (write without a plot, or even a goal, in mind) or work on getting started on what could become a proper novel that I could send off to published-land.

Oh, the decisions.

Mist

It's a bit foggy out today, wouldn't you agree?

I can usually see as far as to the sea and the other side of town from my window. Today I could see as far as to next doors.

More foood

I made me some stroganoff for lunch.

A delicious beef-leek-mushroom stroganoff:
 .
It looks awfully healthy, doesn't it?

Something tells me I'll have food for a while.

Foood

Went grocery shopping today, so now I have enough groceries to make my awesome stroganoff (4 portions), the broccoli-fetacheese-hoummus-thing Matilda told me about (4 portions) and pasta-sallad (4 portions). I've also bought pasta sauce, both tomato and herbs and a carbonara one, which makes up for a total of 8 portions. I can live with this.

Priimark

So me and Matilda went to Primark today. Again. Ahem. I might have accidentally bought a few things. Maybe.

First of is a purple skirt:

And here's a red skirt, which I fully intend to wear for Christmas.

Two pairs of stockings, one red and one green. (Yet again, Christmas.)

A pair of dark green jeans. I'm turning into such a pantser.

A purple pair of jeans:

And here's the purchase of the day: Purple shoes.

Purple shoes.

Purple shoes.

I own purple shoes.

Archery and writing

I'd forgotten how much I love archery. Whoop whoop! Now I just need to get awesome at it again so that I can keep doing it when I get back home to the motherland. Also, for anyone interested, I am going to add a archer tab (a patch of leather you use to protect the fingers you draw the bow with), an arm-guard (so I don't get any bruises) , and a bag for my bow (because the box I keep it in now is a bit too cumbersome to drag to archery practice every week) to my Christmas wish list. Just so you know.

On another note, there're only 25 days left to NaNoWriMo, and boy am I starting to get excited. 50000 words in 30 days. Surely one of them will be good.

Shirtelishirtshirtshirt

I bought a new shirt today (and a belt, but that one wasn't nearly as interesting).

Linguistics

Linguistics is a bloody interesting subject, I have to say. I'm reading Jean Aitchison's (gesundheit) book Language Change: Progress or Decay? and I have to say it's one of the more interesting books (not counting the ones read purely for pleasure) I have read in a while. It's just a shame that our linguistics teacher sort of sucks.

Ah, well, I suppose I'll just have to study on my own. Besides, since I plan to apply to the bachelor's programme in Linguistics for next autumn, I dare say that it won't be too problematic.

School

Today I'm going to write a 500 word essay on whether or not co-ed is better than single sex education. Then, I'm going to go do some ballet, and when I get back I am going to read some romantic poetry (romantic as in the time-period, not wishy-washy roses are red violets are blue nonsense.)

I might also get some other reading done. Just maybe.
